Welcome to Casa Dante

Founded on February 14, 1971.

What can we say about one of the most celebrated and recognized restaurant names in the NY/NJ/CT Metropolitan area.

Casa Dante has served up the most flavorful ethnic cuisine from various parts of Italy for over 45 years. A great wine list, wonderful bar and bar menu and, catering hall, private rooms and, of course, the weekend entertainment; all serve to make a meal at Casa Dante an “event”.

We and the staff at Casa Dante wish to thank our loyal and long standing patrons for their years of support and dedication.

We look forward to the parties; the holidays, the celebrations; the joyous events that made memories for us all.

And we love the food!….oh, that great food!

Thanks for all the memories you’ve given us and more memories to come!

It has been our extreme pleasure to serve you and hope to see you soon!

till then……….

We have always had a wonderful dinner at Casa Dante. The staff is excellent and the food outstanding. The veal is always so tender. The linguini with white clam sauce was excellent as is all the pasta. Two in our party had the chicken special that night and it was delicious, they raved about it.

Casa Dante is the place to go for a great dining experience in the inner city section of Jersey City. It is easy to access from Kennedy Blvd and is within walking distance of Journal Square Transportation Center. Casa Dante offers some innovative cocktail selections and a broad selection of fine wines. Veal entrees in particular are always outstanding and desserts such as profiterole cap off a great meal.
Have never been disappointed over the many years we have been coming here for great Italian cooking.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve meal with our daughters. It was nice to be able to have dinner in a quiet setting and not have to speak over the noise we find in other places.

Getting past the cruise ship and dated decor this place was amazing! Being only 35 years old the and feeling like a youngster upon stepping in to this place it was a dated but welcoming atmosphere.  After valet parking the  benz and giving our coats to the coat check lady we were seated in the main dining room.   That night they did have a singer who wasn’t bad at all.  Being over indulgent we quickly ordered a bottle of white wine and three appetizers.  The first was an avocado/hearts of palm/mozzarella salad which was tossed in a lemon vinaigrette, this was bright and fresh and one of the best salads I’ve had in JC, the second was the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella which was fresh and soft, the third was eggplant rollatini which was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the only criticism I would give is that the sauce was a bit over cooked and bitter but it was so tasty it can be easily overlooked.  For our entrees we ordered the veal freddi and the campanili carbonara.  Both were out of this word, This was hands down the best veal dish I’ve ever eaten and carbonara was cooked perfect and had the perfect texture and seasoning.  After our huge meal and 2 bottles of wine we ordered cappuccinos, deserts, and after dinner drinks.  This place was dated but nostalgic and with the excellent food made it a warm inviting place that I am  definety going to return to.  The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and made it a great evening out!

Came back to the Dante for my son’s birthday dinner – and it did not diappoint.  The food is excellent.  The chef was nice enough to make me the veal rollatine (which somehow fell off the menu), I’d love to know how he rolls the veal so tight…  anyway, I can assure you that the food at Casa Dante is terrific.  8 different people (all of whom love to complain AND importantly are picky italian americans) told me their food was excellent.
and note that the owners have spruced up the interior.  I don’t think there’s a better italian restaurant in Hudson County, perhaps not in the state of NJ

“A wonderful step back in time.”
As a New Yorker I have often heard of Casa Dante in Jersey City as being one of the top “Old Fashioned” Italian restaurants in the east. My family and I ate at Casa Dante yesterday and everything was close to perfect. The setting is like a goodfellas set with ornate trappings and banqets. The tuxedo’d staff is professional and attentive and seems to be long term. The food is traditional and delicious. New twists on old standards that we Italian Americans have grown used to. I had a Scungilli Fra Diavolo which melted in my mouth. My wife and sister had eggplant and a terrific trippa dish (not on the menu but they made it for us). My entree, Rigatoni in a sausage sauce with ricotta featured sausage meatballs which you must try.Even the cheesecake was old fashioned ricotta cheesecake. The wine list is extensive(and expensive) and Casa Dante has entertainment on many nights. Valet parking is a plus in this busy area of Jersey City.

“Wonderful Italian cooking”
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this slightly old-fashioned Italian restaurant with very professional, pleasant waiters. Beautiful food – it was our first evening in the States and one of the best meals we had in three weeks!

“like a step back in time”
Had the good fortune to have lunch there this week with a good friend… The good friend had been a frequent patron of Casa Dante — years ago… You’d have never known it when we walked in… The maitre de greeted him by name… The waiter — greeted him by name… It’s hard to beat that customer service…

The food was classic Italian… like a step back in time… all the food was very tasty and obviously prepared to order… great risotto… pasta fagoli delicious…

I very much enjoyed this meal… And will return as soon as I can…

I did notice a pesky gnat another reviewer mentioned… but only one and not a big deal…

“A Wonderful Night Club type of Restaurant”
This is a wonderful place to spend a Saturday evening. There is always live entertainment. The Service is excellent. The Food is very good! I usually have Veal Chop broiled plain, and pasta
with butter. To make those dishes taste excellent, they must be fresh and of an high quality.! I have never had anything but an enjoyable time here. The entertainment is always excellent. There is a nice Dance floor. The Ambiance is very nice! The Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive! Casa Dante is a pleasant traditional setting!
If you would like to have a Party, or just enjoy a wonderful meal anytime, this is the place!
I usually visit Casa Dante whenever I want to be sure I will have a wonderful evening!
